Think twice about buying a Jayco Jay Flight BHBE,
I bought brand new 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 28bhbe travel trailer which has been nothing but a headache from the first time I took it out. #1 the slide out ripped my carpet and all the trim off all of the slide out and it almost fell out because it wasn't mounted properly when they manufacture my unit. Took a month to get that repair fixed. #2 the plumbing? I guess they had a little child crimping the tees with their Plumbing clamps because every T has leaks in it and I spent over $2,000 fixing the plumbing that wasn't done properly when they manufactured my unit. #3, 8 months my leather couch started peeling on the left hand side back pillow and they want $649 for each back pillow? because they said that's not guaranteed they sold me a 2015 unit with a dry rotted couch. #4 when they manufactured my unit they didn't put enough diamond plate for my unit. they cut it short 1 and 1/2" so now with the heat the diamond plate popped out from underneath the aluminum siding and there's not enough diamond plate to get it back underneath the aluminum siding? I had a repair company come and look at it and they said Jayco sold you a piece of crap. And they cannot do anything and that I need to have Jayco come and look at it to see if they have a fix? because they didn't manufactured the unit properly. (This is what you'll have to deal with if you purchase a Jayco)?

I called Jayco Corporation in Indiana,
But they are ignoring that they sold me a piece of crap (lemon) and won't give me any answers on how to fix the diamond plate and my couch.

The peeling was a common issue on all brands. The fix will be on you

It's 5 years old., the warranty is 2. They didn't make the couch, as dennis b said many brands had that issue. You should be contacting the company that made it.

SuperdutyFord, I’m trying to understand your situation and timeline. You joined the JOF in 2015 and made your first post in November 2019 with your new TT. So when did you buy the new 2015? Did you do a PDI and have a walkthrough before you drove it off the lot? Since you bought it new is it still under warranty? Or is it a used RV but new to you? Big difference. If you are the first owner then Jayco’s 2 year warranty should be in effect up to the end of your 2nd year of ownership. If you are not the 1st owner then you don’t have a Jayco warranty and any repairs will be on your dime. Please provide a little more info so others can try to help you.

Most all of them will ignore you when it's that far out of warranty, not just Jayco. Forrest River ignored me with a fading front cap on our FW that was 9 months out of warranty. I had it repainted myself to the tune of $2600.

I agree - we need to know some more detail. I have a 2016 28BHBE that I bought new and haven't had any issues with it.

And as frustrating as some issues may be, with any brand of RV, I'll remind the OP of the section in the Community Rules, pertaining to his post.
"Customer Disputes
This forum is not intended to be a mechanism for people to solely vent frustrations about services, products, vendors, or sales. Please settle your differences with the seller, provider, manufacturer, or dealer through other means but not through our community. You may post about problems you have with Jayco product in an effort to learn from others with similar issues however the use of the forums to repeatedly attack or bash Jayco, Jayco products, or Jayco owners is strictly forbidden."

My 2018 28BHBE has been flawless (aside from a cracked floor vent and skylight trim ring that came like that from the factory). Your time to complain to Jayco ended when your warranty expired.

My unit has certainly not been flawless, or trouble free. So, I understand your personal frustration to some extent, but a problem with a 2015 RV in 2020 isn't a lemon by any state law that I am aware of.
I think we will see more of this frustration as more and more newbies (some due to COVID) buy RVs thinking they are infallible.
I would personally be addressing that diamondplate with an additional piece of metal trim on top, ASAP. I would not expect Jayco to fix that 5 years later, but I also would not be letting water freely in my trailer.

Posting here telling us not to buy a Jayco is counter productive.
I bet 99% of us here own one already.
You are not giving us enough facts on repairs and warranty claims.
We can't fix the problems with your trailer.Take it to a trailer repair shop get it fixed then sell it.
I'm happy with ours even though it had a few issues.

Same here.
Only issue I had was the Cheap China bomb Rainer Tires were shot and needed to be replaced after 4 1/2 years and 1 screw started to push up from the floor. Fixed this and have not had any problems since.

RV's are generally poorly built and the laws tend to favor the manufacturer when there's a problem. Good to know that going in. Still, we enjoy our 2017, 26BH. It pays to be handy, though.
Regarding the sofa, while they didn't make it, it was Jayco that made the decision to put a low quality piece of junk in that trailer. The foam in our's was shot within the first year, so we just replaced it with an inexpensive home sofa that is much higher quality.
Jayco's giving the buyer what they want, though. Upping the quality and the price would be a surefire way to go out of business.

Sorry for your experience, but most of the low end stuff from most brands is just junk now. Their trying to keep them affordable, but to be able to do that, they have to build them too fast and spec the cheapest stuff. Problems with upholstery failing is widespread. You even have to be careful when you buy high end stuff now.

Wow, come to an owner's forum only to bash the manufacturer?
JFlightRisk nails it in his post above.

I know people that have bought a $350,000.00 Tiffin and have problems from day one. It is not only for the inexpensive rv but all around. Don't care what price you pay for it.

I certainly understand the frustration but one bad unit doesn't make all Jayco's bad. We've purchased 3 Jayco's new, had some minor issues with them but all have been generally solid units. The first two we had for 10 years each. Our current one is 7 yo.

It's like Amazon or Yelp reviews. Some people never write a review unless it's negative.

On the diamond plate issue, a competent RV shop can install a wider metal “threshold” between diamond plate and the fiberglass with screws. Then they will seal the edges with waterproof sealant. It’s an easy fix.
Your couch didn’t have dry rot. It’s just cheap.
