Tire boot/lock

I’m considering getting a boot or lock for the trailer tire. Was hoping someone might have a recommendation or tips on what to look for feature wise. Also if there are brands to avoid. Thanks

I'm kind of considering one of these as well.

Would also like information and features to look for like DaveT.

This company makes a very robust coupler lock, and I imagine their wheel locks follow suit. Not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

The YouTuber Lock Picking Lawyer, does not give their locks a high rating. For the money he recommends a different brand lock that is much cheaper, and more resistant. The hardware on the other hand is good stuff.

I went cheap and bought the this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It won't stop a determined thief but should slow down the casual opportunist.

I've watched many of his videos. I have picked a lot of locks (nothing as fancy as some of his) and unlocked tons of cars and trucks when I was working. You'd be surprised how many folks accidently lock the keys in their cars and trucks....mostly when it's raining or freezing out. Even a trailer last summer that a young lady somehow locked her keys inside, along with a dog and puppy. Yup, it was raining.

I believe I've watched the video with the vulnerable puck locks. He's a wonderful source of info.

I wish would make a list of locks recommends to use and stay away from.

Decades ago I worked for a large university in their security department. I unlocked a lot of cars, padlocks and other locks. I was never good at picking, but people often were surprised how fast I could get it open with damaging anything.
