Zero G hose alternatives

I love the Zero G hose that we purchased recently. It fits nicely in the storage bay and is easy to roll up and store BUT on our time out it started leaking from the connections on both ends. Fresh washers didn't help and I noticed it was actually leaking from below the point where the hose connected to the spigot. The Zero G reviews show that many are having the same problem. Great concept, poor execution!

Has anyone found a hose that actually lasts for than one or two trips that rolls up easily and stores nicely? The Gilmore AquaArmor seems to have great reviews. Anyone tried this one?

I’ve used Zero-G hoses for years w/o any problems. In fact mine are so old I just ordered a bunch more. Hopefully something hasn’t changed wide scale; perhaps you got unlucky?

FYI the blueish zero-g garden hoses from Target can also be used as drinking water hoses.

Zero G advertises a 5 year warranty on the package, did you try to get help from the company?? I like mine vs that white hose that is almost impossible to coil and takes up a ton of room.

The first Zero G I bought, the connection totally blew apart where you mentioned. Returned it for a replacement at Camping World and the second one has worked great.

I have 3 Zero G hoses for over two years with no problems until about a week ago when one of them started leaking just like vpersh mentioned. I ordered another one and they have changed it where the hose hooks to the couplings. A very much sturdier design. I'm hoping they solved the problem. Still a very good hose. Being full time, ours are in 24/7 use.

AKRUEBBE you said "I ordered another one and they have changed it where the hose hooks to the couplings." Could you post a pic or two so I and others can see what the improved fitting looks like? Good cause to keep warranty info and just get the improved one when/if it goes south.

I can't return my leaky one since I've lost the receipt and, quite frankly, I really didn't want another of the same thing, but with the new design it looks very promising. I might just give it a try. I'll be sure and keep all my paperwork this time. Lesson learned!!

I might try clipping off the ends and trying different connectors if I can find some that will work and then I'll have TWO hoses!

Just got back from Lowe's with new hose with the "improved" connector design. The hose bib end was beautiful. Easy to tighten and works very well. The other end leaks horribly! Way worse the my original Zero-G.

I'm going to return it and try another. My confidence level has sunk to an all-time low!!

I have 4 Zero-G's. 2 for the gray tank and 2 for the fresh water...coincidentally the fresh tank hoses are blue and the gray tank hoses are gray. I've had the 1st one for 2 yrs now and purchased the other 3 last year. I haven't had any problems with them yet. If I was to look at another hose it would most likely be the Flexzilla.

Dan, I have two short (3' & 5') Flexzilla hoses that I use on either side of my water softener and I really like them. Very light & flexible with good fittings. But a 25 or 50 footer would take up a lot more room than the Zero G's.

I've had a Flexzilla air hose in the garage for the past 6 yrs and have been very happy with it...that's the reason I'd entertain trying their water hose. BUT not until I have a failure with the Zero-G. Heck, we had one of the "original, as seen on TV" green Zero-G like hoses at the house for 10-12 yrs...whenever they 1st came out. It didn't fail until last year!

Just got back from Lowe's AGAIN!! Exchanged the leaky hose for another one. Brought it home hooked it up to the hose bib and guess what happened.......IT DIDN'T LEAK!!

It a Christmas Miracle....I'm keeping my receipt close at hand though...miracle or not my faith is a bit on the shaky side.

On YouTube, this guys zero G sprung a leak like yours, below the connector. For fun, he opened it up to examine the inside and was surprised to see mold growing in the hose. I think he said it was 8 months old.

I have a fully functional auto shop setup at home. My Flexzilla air hoses have taken a beating and have stood up to whatever abuse was thrown at them, welding slag, grinder sparks, gas spills you name it! I never knew they made a water hose. It might just have to be my next purchase...

I split open the one that started leaking and after two years use there was no mold. Just a clean white liner. He probably works for Camco
