Welcome from Summerville, SC. We lived in Central NY for almost 50 years until the damn taxes and stupid laws forced us south. No regrets.
You’ll enjoy your time on here.

Morning Biganimal - Thanks.
If my wife had her way we'd have moved to SC a long time ago. We're both sick of NY's taxes and corruption, Prince Andy is a joke!! Oh and my wife hates the weather! We were looking in the Rock Hill area cause the company I work for has a branch in Charlotte. Hope to do something soon whether it's SC or somewhere else.

Welcome to JOF from a SC native! It's been a hot couple of months here. The low here last night was over 80, but fall is on the way!

Thanks norty1. It's been hot in NY too, set many records for this summer. Was 62 here overnight, looking forward to the cooler weather for sure. I've had enough 90's and high humidity.

Welcome from West Michigan.

DW is a Jersey girl and we've spent quite a bit of time in NY, some really beautiful territory.

Best wishes with your new rig. Hope it brings lots of adventures, satisfaction, and great memories.

Welcome from Southern California. I'm actually from Idaho, but currently stationed in SoCal.

The folks on this site are awesome and helpful, they've helped me out more than a few times.

Thanks Cajonaut. Someday I'd like to see the west coast and many other places in between.

We may be camping there next season.

Welcome!!!

We are now in NC (2 years) but we lived up in Chittenango, NY (Syracuse area) for 10 years. I was about 10 minutes from Green Lakes. Never camped there but it is gorgeous!!!! We used to go to Brennan Beach in Pulaski to camp. CNY has so many lovely places to camp.

Hi teegee1025, I know Chittenago fairly well as a matter of fact the camper we bought a couple of months ago came from that area. How do you like NC? We were looking at houses in the Rock Hill SC area a year or so ago.

We were camping at Sampson State Park, and took a day trip to check out Green Lakes. When we arrived, the entrance was blocked off, park employees weren't letting anyone inside that wasn't camping there already. They said the park was full and we couldn't even drive through to scout it out. Must've been a virus capacity thing.

So to make the trip worth while, we went to Dinosaur BBQ and got lunch. Maybe we'll be able to go back when it's not so crowded.

Same thing happened to us at Southwick Beach State Park back in July. Park employees had the road blocked off and were not letting anyone in. I told them that we had reservations there in late September and was wondering if we could drive through just to get a better idea of the site layout and where it was. We were told that do to covid they were limiting access to the park and that unless we have a current camping reservation we could not enter the park.

I had no idea all the parks were limiting access like that. The next time, we're going to call ahead first. Thanks for that info.
