Instructions

Something came up that may have affected our trip to the races at Darlington. I thought me an the wife would have to leave on Thursday an we wouldn't make it back until the day we all left on Monday which would have left our 2 friends alone.
I decided to type up detailed instructions on how to operate the awnening, check the tanks, drain the tanks, turn on the how watwr heater etc. My thought was if we had to leave the would have detailed instructions on everything printed out. Well everything worked out and we where able to stay. Just now I saw all these Microsoft Word documents of instructions amd about threw them away. Then I thought wait, God forbid something happens to me on a trip would my wife be able to remember everything? Or if we left due to an illness an asked someone to get to the camp ground and take care of things.
I decided to put a copy in the camper just in case. The other copy will stay in the garage or a file somewhere. One never knows I guess

It's actually a very good idea. You never know what could happen while you are on a trip. Don't forget instructions on how to operate the hitch and tow vehicle also.

I didn't think of that because had we had to leave we would of made it back in time to hook it up an take it home.
But now that u said that I will add instructions for the hitch

I should do the same. My wife can hook up the Anderson that I use, but I get strange looks when others see it, even from the RV dealer.

I am going to do the same thing. I've always thought about something happening to me on a trip. Thanks for planting the seed!

Done that since the 70's with detail and always placed in the RV binder, also with RV information on weight, tire decal etc. and chain link on the weight distribution
When followed procedure less likely things will go wrong.

I like that idea but probably more busy than lazy to attempt the task just yet. Anyone want to share their document(s)? My guess is a lot of it is similar and would only require a tweak or addition/deletion here or there.

I don't think i would wright it all down but I might make a Video ( step by step ) to show the motions I go thru to set up the hitch, the slide out while still level and all the rest.
