Keyless Entry

Hay all, Jeff here, first post and new to the forum. I just purchased my first RV ever, a 2021 Jayco Precept 31UL. So many bells and whistles it is making my head spin. Every day I spend a few hours trying to figure out what is what and how it works, and I have a million questions! But I'm going to start with an easy one. Does anyone make a keyless entry? It would be nice to be able to leave the keys behind when I go out!

THANKS!

Congratulations and welcome to the group Jeff! Welcome also to the slippery slope of the RV world and upgrades / Mods...

Here is a place to start for your keyless entry search.

Good luck with that, I tried to find one for my2021 31UL and was told one doesn't exist for that door. If you happen to find differently, please post.

I was looking for my Alante 27A and can't find one either.. not sure if the door lock is the same as in the Precept.

Here is another site to try:

I just replaced my 2018 Precept 35S with a Bauer Lock. Love the Bluetooth feature.

As a former lock smith, I recommend hiding/zip tying a key some where. Mechanical and electrical devices never fail. As a former garage door mechanic, never rely on your garage door as a sole means of entry ( see the 2nd sentence again).

I always do this but the last time I needed that key, it took me about 20 minutes to find it as I put it there 3 years prior

X2 on Bauer. Your phone is your remote, unlike with RVLock which requires you to carry another remote to unlock your door. They keypad is far superior too (the numbers don't wear off with time). When you order, give them the number off your current door key and they will match the embedded keylock to your rig's key!

Thank you all for reaching out. Greatly appreciated. When nothing came up on the few searches I did. I was afraid there wouldn't be one available. Here's to Jayco and their oversized door handle!!!

The keyless lock on my 2018 31UL is a AlSentis HSS. It was there when I bought the coach so I don't know if the coach needed any modifications for it to fit. It's not Bluetooth, just a touch pad, with key override, but works fine.

I'm new to all this, too. I just got my rv in May. Does the keyless entry add to the security for the RV? Have any of you had security issues as a reason for purchasing a keyless system?

The keyless entry is for convenience, so you don't have to carry a set of keys. Security for an RV is a whole other issue.
