Cabinet Lights

I've been wanting to do this for a while and just getting to it. Finished the cabinets above the sink and one below. Still have more to go but I love making custom things like this. Hardest part was finding some door switches that were small enough for the thickness. My phone camera kept adjusting to the light so it's really a bit brighter than it looks in the pic. Simple white LED strip mounted in a 45º channel up under the lip. With a frost lens on it, it looks awesome.

Looks great!!

I've been meaning to do this for quite a while. Never got around to it on my old rig, and it's still on my list for the new rig!!

Maybe one day I'll actually get it done!!

I added push button battery powered LED lights in many of our cabinets. Just held in place with double sided tape. They are used seldom so haven’t replaced any batteries yet, LED’s are very efficient.
When we need them they are very nice to have.

I also have a solar powered one with a motion sensor that I hang on the hand rail outside the door. It’s great to come back from an evening walk to be able to see the steps and key hole.

There is a light up under the cabinet that lights the sink area. There is a gap between the bottom of the cabinet and the bottom of the inside. I found a gap in the left lower corner, started fishing my wire through there and caught it. There is only a small hole behind the light, I had to use a fish hook to pull it out. I spliced, soldered and heat shrinked. If there would have been more lights, I would have added a inline fuse but this is only pulling about a half an amp so I didn't on this one. Under the sink, I pulled a new wire from my subpanel I installed under the bunk. I'm going to install some color accent lights as soon as I'm finished with all the cabinets.

I thought about going that route, but being a car guy, I just love to make custom stuff and love to solder, so I hard wired it in. Laying the LED's in a channel with a lens and end caps looks so good, but it's addictive. )

Looks great. I added lights to our cabinets but just stuck the strip to the top of the wall. I really like those channels to diffuse the light. Might have to upgrade mine. 😁

Nice, I have a pantry and 2 wardrobes that have a gap in the shelves on a front corner, I think I am going to run a strip on the front corner from bottom to top to light those. Taking a break since the kitchen area is all done and we are headed to camp this weekend. Gonna do the entertainment center next week. Once the cabinets are done, I'm going to do some RGB accents in parts of the interior, and maybe on the bottom outside.

The channel give it a really nice finished look, even though you can't see them. I'm going to do cabinets in my house once I'm done with the trailer.

Entertainment center done. Installed a sub-panel behind the radio for future power needs, that was fun through that little hole.
