Skylight Modification

Recently added solar to my roof https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...tml#post874080 and inadvertently cracked my skylight.

As the only vent in this model is in the bathroom, I would like to add a MaxxAir fan in the main cabin to move more air. Has anyone heard of a way to separate the opening to create 2 standard 14x14 openings? Based on the dimensions, I am thinking I should be able to put a 1x2 in the center of the opening and add my MaxxAir and a standard 14x14 skylight...I would have to somehow deal with the two flanges meeting in the middle as they would be greater than 1/4"....

The skylight lets far too much heat in, and as nice as the light is, the heat is ridiculous when boondocking - which is how I mostly camp.

I don’t see any reason that won’t work. I would just trim the new sky light flange down or put that end of the flange under the frame for the max air that goes on the roof. That would help hold the new sky light in place. I would also paint the new sky light with white plasticdip. Reall kills the heat but let’s in a lot of light. Jay
