Does anyone have any recommendation for a TPMS that is reliable??
I have a Whitehawk 27 DSRL and since i have had a blowout thought i would look into this.

Dave-

Yes we all have a recommendation for the TPMS system we use. Many options out there and several good ones. For the last 3 years I have been using the TST 507 system and it saved my bacon one time. I am extremely satisfied and have recently upgraded the system to the new color monitor.....did that because at 71yo it will be easier for me to read.

I would do a forum search for TPMS and you will find lots of information and opinions. Whichever you choose, its a great safety net as you travel.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Dave,

You didn't mention the age and make of your tires. A TPMS may be a good idea, but it won't stop blowouts due to old tires and/or poor quality tires.

Lots of options out there. We chose the Tireminder TM77 for our 27DSRL. We transferred them to our Eagle when we traded.

TST and TireMinder seem to be the most popular. As OldMan says it won’t prevent the blowout but it may lessen or prevent damage to your TT. I was instantly alerted to my 2 blowouts and was able to get the rig to the shoulder before any damage occurred.

TST 507 for me. Been running it for four years and never any issues. I take the sensors off for winter storage and replace the batteries in them every spring

Ok, this thread and others have convinced me to buy a TPMS.

My last camper (with two axles) had a tire explode. I don't drive above 60mph, and didn't feel anything. I probably went a mile or so before a passing driver pointed at me.

A TPMS would not have prevented it from exploding, but I think it might have warned me before it happened. Based on that, I'm going to pull the trigger.

Here is a very good TireMinder TPMS that Amazon sells for under $100.

You might have to buy the signal booster but I'd try it without it first to see if you need it. I had trouble getting a consistent reading from the rear passenger side tire on my FW until I added the booster. Very solid system.

Can't say anything about any other brands, only my TireMinder TPMS. Very happy with it, got a real good price including the signal booster. Frankly I'm not sure that there's all that much difference among brands. So here's my recommendation: Get a TPMS and use it. And enjoy your camping!

That is the whole idea of the TPMS system on trailers. Get pulled off the road before the damage occurs.
I have the Tireminder A1A and love it.
