Since I have an inverter onboard I use a Harbor Freight pancake compressor.
Those 12V ones just dont have enough jam to get it done in a reasonable timeframe

Another vote for harbor freight 3 gallon, works just fine for airing up the tires. And priced right.

Converter
Went withViair 300P, curious if anyone has made use of an AC to DC converter to power when AC power is available avoiding having to connect to battery and running vehicle?

I have a Viair and it is truly a quality air compressor. Very impressed with it! Expensive but well worth it because my tires are high pressure. Ever try to find a tire compressor that will do over 100psi? Very difficult! Most filling stations and surprisingly most tire stores don’t have that capability. You usually have to go to a truck stop or truck tire store - big rigs to fill your tires. Viair is the way to go. If you’re just looking for a general air compressor for anything from a car tire down, almost any cheap pancake compressor will do the job!

Viair 400. It travels in the Jeep (toad) with us mainly for airing up tires after airing down for back roading.

Remember, if you want to winterize or summerize by blowing air through the water lines, you need air volume. Thus, you'll need something with a storage tank and adjustable output pressure.

this was my thought exactly.
airing up tires and de-winterizing seem like to different requirements to me.
air up, I want pressure.
de-winterizing I want CFMs.
But I'm no expert at all in this space!

Mine does well enough at both, and it runs the small nailer and stapler.

X2. And set at 20 psig it clears all the water lines for winterizing. There is a brass fitting that has the quick connect fitting that screws into the fresh water connection.

I use a cordless Millwauke, you can set it and it stops at what ever its set to, I use it for maintaining tire pressure, it has no tank on it.

I’ve got a VIAIR as well. Great compressor. Could use a second hose though and that auto shutoff sounds fantastic. I didn’t realize they made one with that option.
