A few years ago I had to do some repairs to my air compressor, and in the end I ended up with an extra air pressure gauge. It sat in the junk box since then as I toyed with various ideas as to what I can do with it. A recent threat on JOF made me wonder if I can use it to monitor the water pressure at the campgrounds. A quick bit of research told me that a pressure gauge doesn't care if it's air or water; pressure is pressure. No reason why I can't use it for what I want to. I'll just plumb it in-line with the fresh water hose.
So I went down to the big box store and bought some parts, just some various brass adapters and a tee:
I put it all together with teflon tape and hooked it up. Here is says the pressure from the house is 70 PSI:
I reconnected it after the pressure reducer, and now it reads 45 PSI:
