Not one of us is smarter or faster than the computer. The only time I put it in manual is when I want it to sound good because I grew up driving sticks.

Having recently acquainted myself with this hitch for my new-to-me setup (took it apart about 5-6 times to dial it in), I agree with the previous posts about the levelness of the TT and getting the proper amount of distribution to appropriate steering and sway. Only thing I might suggest changing, if applicable, is flipping the shank for ground clearance issues (if any) as Tumbleweed alluded to, and bringing the bars on the trailer up to match. I usually try to keep things at that pivot point as "up and out of the way" as possible to avoid steep approach/departure angles in driveways/campsites.

So okay here is another question, does everyone put the tow mode in when towing their TT.

I agree flipping the shank around will give me more ground clearance. Will tackle this during the spring when the TT is out of storage.

I do tow using tow/haul mode.

The computer is smarter than any of us and it knows which gear to use to keep the truck happy.

I usually lock out 6th gear though.

My Ram has a 6 speed tranny. Out of tow mode it operates 2nd thru 6th gear and in tow mode it runs 1st thru 5th. Better for take off and when I am slowing down in tow mode I get that feeling of having a jake break verses truck just down shifting.
