All of the "big three" trucks have towing capacities north of 10,000#, mostly due to new SAE J2807 toiwng standard. However, most all of these trucks will be limited by US and Canadian regulations for GVWR by truck class.
F150, Ram 1500, Chevy 1500 = GVWR: ~7000#
F250, Ram 2500, Chevy 2500 = GVWR: ~10,000#
F350, Ram 3500, Chevy 3500 = GVWR: ~13,000#
All of these limits are based on regulations, vice truck designs. In fact, a Ram 2500 with a GVWR of 10,000# in the US, will only have a GVWR of 9900# in Canada - for the same vehicle!!
Total available payload will always be GVWR - truck curb weight. A single cab, gas powered truck will have a higher payload than a crewcab diesel truck due only to the higher curb weight of a crew cab body, and weight of the diesel engine.
Happy towing.
