New F150
I'm loving my new F150 Lariat SuperCrew 3.5L EB. Taking a run down to the coast in 2 weeks with the TT for a 5 day vacation. Can't wait to see how it tows. Huge upgrade from the 2004 Silverado 1500 5.3L.
Hooked up I weigh 6800 on the truck, same as the Silverado. The Chevy was 400 lbs overweight and the Ford has a couple hundred pounds to spare.

I towed with my new F150 over Memorial day. Very impressive and I'm comparing it to a Cummins Ram that I've pulled with for the last 11 years. I think that you will be very happy with your experience.

Just completed our first tow into the mountains with my 2015 with the 3.5. It's always towed extremely well on the flat grounds and small hills I've done over the last two years, but I was a little concerned how it would do with the steep inclines/declines heading into the Appalachians.
I can't say how impressed I was. Even up the steepest inclines between Asheville and Hartford, TN the truck had no issue at all holding speed without feeling like I was pushing it too hard. Never saw a transmission temp outside of it's normal operating range either.
I will admit, I had some anxiety prior to making this trip because of the unknown, but that was all put to rest.

That's good to hear. I only have one friend who owns and tows with an EcoBoost and he overheated and damaged his truck. I chalk it up to his inexperience towing. First trip for me tomorrow is 4 hours down the coast. I very seldom tow over the passes but now that I have enough truck maybe I will.

I've towed a couple of 5000km trips with my 8200lbs trailer from Ontario to Florida through the Appalachian Mountains and I'm constantly impressed with the 3.5L Ecoboost.
I have never experienced any temps out of the normal range...nor would I expect it. As longs as you have good air flow, I would assume temps to stay normal. I pulled up Fancy Gap at 65MPH and the transmission temp was 207.

Love seeing all these positive posts. We just picked up our new 3.5ecoboost. Went for a short trip last week. The torque and mileage were very impressive. We previously had the 5litre and my husband says the eco boost is much better. “Pulls like nothing’s there”

Those F150 Eco Boost trucks are so impressive I wonder why Ford even makes an F250. They should just beef up the rear springs on an F150, drop the F250 altogether and keep the F350 for large 5th wheels.

Another one impressed with the Ecoboost here. Our trailer scales in at 6,000 lbs, and the truck has power to spare. Much more than our old ‘04 Silverado. It just hurts a little at the gas pump. But on four last trip I had to pass someone going a little too slow on the highway — I slowed down to his speed and people were passing me when it was unsafe to do so because they couldn’t see around our trailer. So when I had the chance, I passed. No problems with speed or acceleration at all.
I also read somewhere they were working on a 600 hp 5.0 litre Ecoboost for the Raptor.

Just took my f150 on a 5,500 mile trip never went below 5th gear even on 6% grades ! Towed GREAT ! I did use premium and averaged 10.4 mpg for the trip. You will love towing with it.

What transmission are you guys getting? I'm asking questions because we are currently looking for a new TV. I typically have been a chevy guy, but it might be time to change after reading your reviews.

My 2018 came with a 10-speed auto. They were 6-speed auto up through 2016.

I have a 2015. We are taking it out on a long trip this weekend for about 3 weeks. It is nice to hear what everyone is saying. I have heard good reviews from my friends at the dealership. Question: have any of you had to be put air bags on? What tires are you using? I have heard you may be able to forgo airbags with a tire upgrade. Thanks!

I haven't needed airbags, but ours also came with 17" rims and Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar E-Rated LT tires. I air em up to 75psi when towing and it runs good. Our previous truck was on P tires and the difference in ride and capability when towing is night and day. I will never tow again on P tires.

Mine is a 2016 with the 6-speed. I tow 8200lbs and the truck is phenomenal.
I won't say I don't notice the trailer back there, but I put the cruise control on at 65MPH and let it rip. I average between 9-11MPG depending on the wind.
Hill don't slow the beast down, it may dip to 4th gear, but I don't lose any speed.
