Rambox with Reese Airborne Sidewinder

My new Reese Elite Airborne Sidewinder arrived today. Started the install but haven't finished it yet. First impression is that it is well built and heavy duty. It weighs roughly twice as much as the Mor/ryde pin box I removed. It looks like it's going to be great. I'm excited to get it installed and try it out in my new Ram. Will post pics as soon as it's done.

Over all the installation is fairly simple. The only issue I'm having thus far is that I cannot mount the Reese as high up into the rv mount as I was hoping. In its current state, there is 10" of gap between the tailgate and the bottom of the rv. I was hoping to get it to around 7-8".

At night and my shop lights are fighting the image. This is with the air suspension down in the "trailer" position.

Another side pic with the airbags up. The air suspension is so cool. Once you start putting a load on the truck, the suspension system starts adjusting and raising. It actually helps you get hooked up quicker. Almost immediately after the truck takes some weight, the legs are off of the ground. Very nice. No squat. Ever.

Pic using the cargo cam. You can turn it and the back up cam on anytime. Even when going forward.

This shows why I can't install it any higher into the pin box mount. That sloped bent piece on the sides hanges down too far.

I am seriously tempted to even up the sides on the pin box mount so I can get my side rail clearances closer to my liking.

In reality, it doesn't look crazy high, but it is definitely nose high now.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the same type of pics over and over.

Oh, the hitch assembly calls for white lithium grease to be applied on the slip plates. I used normal bearing grease. The hitch is really tight at the pivot point. I guess maybe the normal grease is too thick?

Besides the cab clearance, curious why you ditched the MorRyde? I've always preferred the MorRyde over anything else on the market, but I've always had the long bed too. Nice looking set up you have. I wouldn't sweat the nose high really. When you say even up the sides of the pin box mount, you aren't referring to cutting part of the mount off are you? I myself might would do it if it was really that bad. Not sure if you're like me and do the welding / fabricating thing.

Nice setup. I have b&w and the 19k sidewinder with my ram. I wish they made a 19k airborne
