Electric Jack Issue

So the electric jack on X23B will retract but when I try to extend it, it blows the 30 amp fuse….. why?
Thank you in advance!

I’m going to read between the lines a little bit here. If the tt is stored outside and the head ( controller) is not cover to stop water intrusion I would start by looking at the switch. Does it blow the fuse as soon as you try to lower the jack? I would make sure you have a good ground( doesn’t cost a thing to check). These are the things I would check before I would start looking to replace the jack. Hope this helps.

The camper is completely covered during the winter. The batteries taken out and put on a tender. Which wire would be the ground for the electric jack? I can lower the camper without the fuse blowing but when I try to raise the camper it admittedly blows a fuse. Thank you.

I believe the jack grounds to the tongue with the three mounting bolts (mine does). I would remove them one at a time and clean the mounting surfaces. I had trouble with the in line fuse holder and replaced it with a 30amp automatic reset circuit breaker. I don’t believe this is your problem but it just eliminated a weak spot it the system.

Another thing which someone may have mentioned earlier, use a star lock washer or two between the jack base and the trailer frame. Much better ground.
