I had the x29 with the same sewer storage it is definatly supposed to be sloped in such a way that any water flows towards the door to prevent water from remaining inside the storage port. if the inner tube is solid then i might suggest that it was installed upside down .

Sloping toward the door would make sense. Mine was not fastened in any way. Nor was there any support inside to hold it up. I don't see any upside down, it's just a round tube. But, my rino hose doesn't fit anyway, so I think sealing it up is my best option. I sure don't need water getting past the door.

What kind of fittings did you get for the storage pipes that had removable lids?

They are just standard pvc pipe caps. I drilled very small holes in them to break the vacuum when I pull them off using the cupboard type handles I installed on them.
