Skylight cover
I was curious if anybody knows the size of these covers? I have a 2014 X17Z and I hit a low tree branch and smashed my skylight cover. My Jayco dealership is giving me the runaround.

I got up on the roof and measured they two I wanted to replace with smoked.

I suspect you can measure the opening inside the shower to get the skylight size.
FYI, you really need to get on the roof twice a year to do roof maintenance if you do not, you will get leaks.

Maybe ask him to go back up and measure. The outside flange is going to be larger that what you measure from the inside so you need the entire W and L and then the bubble size. It is going to be a guess for anyone else even if they have your same rig. Things change from one to the next and most of that stuff cannot be returned if you get it wrong.

I bought some eternabond tape and my buddy owes me a bunch of favors. The dealership got back to me with dimensions for a forest River trailer 14"W x 22"L. Its only $60.00 so i will take my chances and try it.

That's a common size for many skylights, including ours that developed a crack through one on the screw holes.

Would anybody happen to know the part number and size of the skylight cover dome on a 2018 16XRB? Over the shower stall. It looks like it is square.

I've been looking, too. I found Maxx-aire does a universal skylight cover that includes a hinge & mount, only $18 on Amazon. I'll post an update once I get it, let you know if it worked. As a replacement skylight is north of $100, this is a no-brainer!

As you decide on your replacement source, consider what you are actually buying. The stock Jayco skylight is acrylic, no UV protection and within one year of sun exposure will turn yellow and begin to fail by cracking or crackling and most certainly doesn't stand up to foot traffic! For the same price or sometimes less (depends on your dealer), there are on-line solutions many of us have purchased where the material is Lexan. A Lexan skylight is full of UV protection as well as strength enough to support all but the most obese who accidentally put a foot on it. (happens more than you would expect) And they don't yellow. Once you know your actual size, Icon and several sellers on Ebay should have something for you to evaluate price/performance to see if that's for you.

Thanks for this. Sometime next summer, I want to replace the exterior of the rectangular skylight over the shower/tub, and use a white cover. The original one was clear-ish but yellowing and let in a lot of heat in direct sunlight. I spray painted the outside with white paint, but the paint wasn't holding up well by the time I covered the trailer for winter.

I would measure the outside dimensions and the rise and look for a Lexan replacement. There are threads on JOF of members that have done theirs. remember to not overtighten the screws as that is what breaks them usually.

Thanks, all, for the replies  . I've already ordered the skylight so I'll probably go ahead & install it, with the knowledge that I may need to revisit down the road.
The bus is in her barn when not being used, so yellowing/cracking will be less, and as I am almost always crawling while on the roof (DW insists!) I'm unlikely to put my foot through it.
FWIW, I'll post here if I encounter any snags during the install, probably in the spring unless we get a warm spell, barn is unheated.
