Battery Tender

I'm on my third Battery Tender in the past 6 years. The first one died and did absolutely nothing...just out of the blue. The second one, the "ready" LED burned out. It worked fine but just had a burnt out LED. No biggie because I can check the volts...confirming it was working. Question is, has anyone else had this many problems with the Battery Tender brand maintainers? All I ever hear is good things about them and people that have had them for years with no problems. I've had three in 6 years. Any other maintainer/charger that you'd recommend?

Not familiar with the "Battery Tender" brand..., but have had great performance and reliability with the "BatteryMINDer Plus" (Charger/Maintainer/Desulfator) brand for years with both my TT and TV batteries.

I have never used a battery maintainer for our camper but I have used several of them on our boat. Worst one was Guest. I have no experience with NoCo Genius but heard mixed reviews on them. The Minn Kota has performed without issues for several years now. Again this is the marine world but shouldn't be any different as long as it is a 12 volt battery. If I do get one for the camper it will hands down be a Minn Kota.

I agree with Jerry and I also am using a Minn Kota charger as well. The advantage a marine charger has (at least the minn kota I have) is that they are totally sealed in epoxy resin which keep dirt and moisture out of them. I have ruined more than one decent battery charger charging a boat, lawn mower, vehicle, etc., and along came a blowing rain expectantly. ~CA

I have one with the Harley Davidson lable that I bought back in 2006 for my Road King. Have used it every winter since. I also have 2 Battery Minder Plus that I bought in 2015 to use on my first Class C. I have them connected all winter an they're still ok.

I have one that I purchased from Harbor Freight many years ago. I use it on my lawn tractor. It works flawlessly, even the indicator lights are still chugging away.
I do remove it when I am away camping.

My Battery Tender brand has been working flawless with all the lights since 2016. It is plugged in 100% of the time when in storage. I am able to plug mine in a dash 12v outlet so mine has been inside and not exposed to the elements.

Ive had two single BT chargers for many years and I also have a 4 bank BT charger. All work perfect and Ive had them at least 6 years.

They do a lot of bad reviews on amazon though. Guess theyre hit or miss? Or maybe they recently went to crap?

I have approx 6 battery maintainers. They are all every bit of 10 years old and have never given me a problem. The are made by BatteryMINDer. They also desulfate which is why I use them.

I've have had three battery Tender Plus's running 24/7 for the last two years. Never had a problem with this brand. I have spoken to one of my electronics friends, and he stated that these tenders/maintainers, use little to no power when battery is fully charged. This is also the best condition for the unit to be in, as it doesn't create any heat, which is the killer of electronics. Also, it is best to have your batteries at top charge the majority of the time.

My family has used many Battery Tenders for years. Never any issues with Battery Tender brand. Unless quality has decreased lately with the Battery Tender brand like so many other products. Mine are a few years old and are still going strong
