Furnace sail switch on 2014 185RB

Furnace not working and traced problem to the sail switch.
Furnace is an Atwood so I called them to order a replacement and I was told they are no longer made or for sale.
I can find many of them on the internet for sale that look exactly the same but not with the exact part number.
Being a simple make or break switch does it really matter if I gat the exact same part number?

Part # can change, just look of it is identical. But also test the old one first for its proper working.

Are you sure the old one is bad and not just hanging up? I would at least clean and a little dry lube and see if it works. All it does is make sure you have adequate air flow, if it gets dirty sometimes the "sail" won't open all the way.

Good Luck...

As to your question, a part number is unique to that mfg, if another mfg makes the exact same item it would have a different part number. Having worked in a hardware store for a few years, part numbers would change often while the part was the same.

Good Luck.
