Greyhawk 29MV - Interior Packing

Hey All,

So my DW has been packing, repacking, analyzing, over-analyzing, etc. the packing of our rig (inside packing). We have so much cabinetry and space, she’s beside herself in a good way with where to put things. So I thought I’d ask my fellow 29MV folks - how are you packing out your rig inside? Where are you putting everything?

To get things started, we were discussing the smaller lower cabinet in the pantry stack. Its so small we couldn’t figure out what to do with it. DW had a good idea (I think) of stacking our water bottles in there instead of leaving them in the case/packaging under the dinette. Seemed like a pretty good idea to me.

Where did you settle on putting your plates? How are you using the 2 large armoires in the back? I’ve always told her to pack heavy items low, light items high, but taking a knee to get a plate or a pot is a game for the youthful. I am not old, but getting closer to 50 then I am to 40 so getting low for frequently used items is getting ... well ... old.

So please - if you have a 29 MV please share how you’ve packed up the inside.

Thanks !

Howdy. We have the smaller one, a Greyhawk 26Y, but I thought some of our packing hacks might be handy. I found storage bins that are about 18" x 15" and 10" deep. They are made of fabric so considerably lighter weight than wicker baskets, and are quite nice patterns fitting the color decor. We put our extra towels and blankets in these over the front cab. Out of the way, but accessible.

Also, we have less cabinets than you, but made sure to put pans in the lowest one, under the sink. Handy for outdoor cooking too as that cabinet is also accessible from the steps.

The medicine cabinet over the sink in the bathroom had to go as it made the sink practically impossible to use. We used command hooks to hang a fabric closet organizer on another wall in there. It works perfectly!! Of course, we used the mirror from the cabinet over the sink. Tons of heavy duty glue and velcro. So far, so good.

We've had ours for a year. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours. Happy trails!!

Happy wife happy life. Go with the flow and leave the packing to her. If my DW likes where it is I am fine. Lots of room for everything in these rigs.

Enjoy the journey

The 29MV has lots of interior storage space. The small lower cabinet in the pantry stack is where I put all of the wine (inside a rectangular basket) so water would be a great substitute. The amoir in the bedroom has lots of space that we use to hang clothes, place our travel bags, and our laundry bag. Extra blankets, pillows, and bedding go in the cabinets above the bed and folded clothes go in the various drawers in the bedroom
The kitchen is where storage is needed. Up above we have pots and pans, plates, paper plates, cups, plastic cups, bowls, glasses, plastic pitcher, paper towels and napkins, etc. Below are the coffee maker, toaster, cutting boards, etc. Above the sofa are the power sweeper, collapsible Swiffer, manuals, binoculars, flyswatter, atlas, and other odds and ends. Bottles of water are stored in the dinette drawers, along with placemats, etc.

My DW put the pots and pans under the sink along with our coffee maker. The coffee maker is a small single cup kureig.
The cabinets above the sink have plastic plates, paper plates, glasses and then spices in a few little organizers.
The space above the microwave get the dog treats and her extra food.
Above the sofa, we puts food stuff when on the road. We don't live in it full time, so we only have food stuff there when vacationing.
So far, not really much in the cabinets above the bed.
The armoir drawers and cabinets get clothes, wine in the box it came in and one misc drawer for a power strip and other assorted stuff.
Water currently goes under the table.
Drawers under the table seating get extra paper towels and napkins in one drawer. I forget what we put in the other drawer, as it was empty after our last trip.
Under the bathroom sink, we have spare rolls of TP, drop ins for the black tank and her stuff!

This will probably all change as we take some longer trips later this year.
I would put things where they fit the best for you though.

I am going to make a little organizer for the cabinet above the sink, as our wine glasses are all over the place when we stop for the night.
We have 8 wine glasses in there. Not sure why we have 8, as we do not have that many friends!

Todd

Ours is packed a lot like this.

Cups/dishes over the sink. A couple pans and a griddle above the microwave along with ice trays and booze. Utensils, towels, trivets, gloves, foil, plastic bags, etc. in the kitchen drawers. Appliances in the lower cabinets, trash can and hand/dish soap under the sink. Cleaning supplies and spare paper products above the couch, hanging clothes in the closets in the back, folding clothes in the drawers, games, manuals, a few spare parts in lower drawers, extra blanket in cabinet above bed. Dog supplies in drawers under dinette.

Pantry holds food, seasonings, etc. We travel with a 5-gallon jug of RO water for drinking that rides in the shower during transit and sits at the end of the dinette seat that faces front when parked. That little cabinet below the pantry is our son's space. He stores toys in there. Don't have much use for it otherwise.

We have several empty drawers and compartments (inside and out), and I probably have several things duplicated because I can't remember where I put it! LOL!! Just last trip I was complaining I couldn't find a straw for my drink. A few hours later I found a package of straws in a drawer; it was the ONLY thing in that drawer! LOL!!

Bottom line: put it where you think it should go and where it makes sense from an operational standpoint. I still end up opening at least 3 drawers every time I go looking for something!! DW knows where everything is in the kitchen though, even though we both cook an equal amount...
