Low tank drain valves on 2021 Redhawk

Hello all,

We purchased our Redhawk RV October 2020 and the last three places we hooked up to are next
to impossible to drain the grey/ black tanks. Jayco has the valves
so low to the ground they won’t drain without assisting the hose up and down. Any help is appreciated.

not much you can do about it. You may have to start at the tanks and see if you can redesign it.

My Northpoint drain valves are kinda low and I run into the same situation at times. I pull the valves and the tanks fully drain but there is leftover in the drain lines and the sewer hose. If I'm at a full hook up for a length of time and have to drain the tank(s) a couple times during my stay, whatever drains out of the tanks is what drains out and whatever is left in the hose stays in there until I have to drain again. For me, it's always grey water that's going to be in there so it not a big deal.

On ours, plumber's strapping is what's holding the pipes up. When it broke, I just lifted the pipes up a bit more before I tightened down the straps.

It's not perfect but I gained a couple of inches.

But I admit it's not enough for some parks. The "Lift and Shuffle" on the drain hose is still something I end up doing. Yes, we have one of those collapsible ramps that will go under the hose, but we're never in one spot long enough that I felt it was worth the hassle.

I agree. I feel like mine are too low on my 2020 31F. Depending on the terrain of the site and how I’m leveled it can be a pain. I wish mine were higher too. Sometimes there isn’t enough downward slope and tank contents sit in the hose so I end up having to lift portions of the hose to get it into the drain.

Side note, does Jayco monitor these forums? My last trailer was a Forest River and there were several FR employees who monitored and responded on the forum. It would be nice if they took this feedback to fix future models.
