In our tt usually I fold it up as a couple layers and it lays on the kitchen floor, and we walk on it.

Commonly o see them rolled up as strapped the the rear bumper.

I put mine in the shower as it its usually damp from dew when leaving in the morning. It also is convenient when the rug is soiled and wet and allows me to clean it and dry it properly when I get home without getting other areas or storage compartments dirty, plus just a quick rinse of the shower if necessary.

I have some super large garbage bags I get from my local hardware. If their dirty and wet I put them in a bag till I get home and get them clean and dry.

We put ours inside a large plastic bag and then place it in one of the storage compartments until we get it home and can clean it.

Ours came with a carry bag as a spiff. We fold it, put it in the bag, and it lives in the front pass through compartment.
If it's wet and dirty, it goes out on the deck at home to dry, and get swept off.

I've never seen the storage bags anywhere except CW. They're about $12.

My bad. I meant to type "never seen sold separately" except CW.

There's got to be some brand of large duffle available that would fit the bill.

Side note to our bag---the zipper isn't the best. Every once in a while it splits, and you have to fiddle with it.

I have a trailer, not a C, so the patio rug goes in the bed of the truck.

But, if I had a C, I wouldn't want to stow the patio rug indoors. Not only is it dirty, but who knows what bugs may have found it an interesting place to explore, and I don't want to invite them into my living area.

Best solution, for me, would be to have it rolled up and secured outside somewhere. Not in an inside storage area, because that's inside.

Second best solution might be to have it inside a double layered garbage bag that's securely tied, and then stored somewhere indoors.

This is the patio mat bag we have, from CW. Fits up to an 8'x20' mat.

We have a polypropylene rug which doesn’t absorb water. I sweep off both sides, roll it up and put it into the rear cargo compartment. No dirt or mud goes in with it.

Our polypropylene rug is waterproof. It can get wet, but the fibers do not soak up any water. I do not keep it in a bag. Just rolled up. I think we found it at Lowes.
