Redhawk vs Greyhawk suspension

Hi,,,,Do new Redhawks not have actual shock absorbers like the Greyhawks or just those helper springs???

Was really leaning towards a Redhawk until I saw all the replys in my other thread on suspension.
Also can someone explain the caster setting to me please.

The Ford E350/E450 are shipped with the caster set at about +3 to +4 Degrees. That setting is OK for city driving.

For highway driving speeds you want and need about +5 to +6 degrees for good stability.

The Ford specified range is about +1.5 to +7.0 so you can see almost any setting can be declared to be within specs for the "tweak the toe and its good to go" alignment service.

You can look at the specs on Jayco.com. Looks like both of those units come with the JRide Plus system which shows Bilstein shocks front and rear.

My understanding is that the Greyhawks come with J-ride Plus which includes the upgraded Bilstein shocks and an heavier duty Hellwig rear sway bar.

I believe Redhawks have J-ride (not Plus), so stock Ford shocks and sway bars.

On our 2016 Greyhawk 31FS with the J-ride Plus, I have had the alignment (caster) adjusted, added a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer and the heavy duty Hellwig front sway bar. We've got over 23k miles on ours and I"m happy with the way it drives.

X2...Bilstein shocks and heavy duty rear sway bar only comes on the Greyhawk. The Redhawk gets standard Ford shocks and sway bar.

I got lucky I guess because our 2018 Greyhawk Prestige came from factory with a straight steering wheel and it handles great. No pulling to one side or fighting to keep it straight. I only drive 65mph so that may be part of the reason...but straight out of the box my JRide Plus is working like a champ!
