Replacing Battery

Hello All. I'm still trying to upgrade the single battery situation in my Redhawk 26XD. I think I could add a 2nd battery in the storage compartment next to the battery tray and connect them through the storage compartment wall. If I do, I'll need to add some support for the extra weight and I'd loose some of the limited storage space that I have. My question is; what about replacing the current battery with a single 200 amp battery such as Renogy Deep Cycle AGM Battery 12 Volt 200Ah. I don't know much about batteries so I don't know how feasible this is. It's a heavy sucker - 128 lbs - so I'd have to check with Jayco to see if the tray will hold 128 lb. Size wise, it fits in the battery compartment. I'm sure I'm overlooking something just not sure what it is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just re-measured the battery tray. It is too small so that would have to be replaced as well.

I guess my main question is, does your camping lifestyle require a second battery? Does it require 200Ah? How has the current battery handled your 12Volt needs? Are you planning on starting to dry-camp?

Just wondering

Thanks Mustang65. Right now, 1 battery is fine. We just started RVing this summer mostly staying in PA and DEL state parks. Come late Sept I want to hit the balloon festival in Albuquerque, then explore out West for a month or so. Figure that's when I'll need the second battery.

Battery upgrade

I just replaced my interstate with a trojan t1275 12v golf cart battery, had to grind down battery tray rivets and remove couple rivets and weld teo corners but it barely fit if i pulled tray out and installed back with battery already in it. We have a new 29xk
