Satellite TV

Looking at satellite tv but only use the RV about 8-10 times a year with only one or two being a week while most others being long weekends. Really tired of the crappy coverage using antenna or park cable.

I don’t mind the up front cost about $400 for a two tv system. I really down want to pay $45 a month for service when I don’t use it most of the time.

I don’t have satellite service for home tv.

Am I missing something?

Is there a cheap way to turn this on and off maybe a week at a time? I did some searches and didn’t see anything.

I went with Dish Tailgater pro setup with 2 receivers. I couldn't justify the monthly cost so I set up Dish service at my house and pay only $7 per month for each camper receiver. I was tired of my cable company anyway so it all fell into place for me.

Dish Network

You also have the option of using Dish Network's Pay As You Go plan whereby you activate for a month at a time and let lapse--don't pay--until you are ready to go again.

My only complaint with it is the fact that everything is based upon a calendar month so you can't activate from mid month to mid month of the following month.

Other that that complaint, it works well.

So the base pay as you go is like $45. It will just expire after a month? Are the ground based mini dishes decent for picture? I have the redhawk 31xl. Not sure if there is any roof mount either when parked or permanent.
