Unhappy Tankless waterheater problems

We continually have problems with our thankless hot water heater. Two motherboards have fried on it and after 1st camping trip discovered a crack in it which dealer blamed us saying it was due to water left in it when unused in a winter in Louisiana. Mfg sided with dealer. Thankless men's no water left, right? Last couple of trips failed to heat water. Any suggestions from anyone?

Even though it is called tankless, there is still a small reservoir of water in some units that MUST be drained to winterize, it shows you how to do it in the manual, it’s usually very simple. If water was left in it during freezing temp, I would have to agree with the dealer and manufacturer. You don’t mention what brand of unit it is so that info would help.

No, there is always water in the piping, it just heats instantly instead of storing it in a tank.
