Truma Combi vs Atwood water heater?

Hey all,
I asked about the water heater when touring the Melbourne Prestige with the Jayco salesman. I saw it wasn't an "instant" hot water heater like the Truma Combi. He said the Atwood heater was much better and that the Truma Combi had problems distributing even water temps. That the shower might be scalding and the kitchen sink lukewarm. Also mentioned poor reliability. Does anyone have personal experience with that? I wonder if the salesman was selling "what he had" versus what another coach might offer? Comments?

I’ve had the truma for 2 years now and love it. It’s unbelievably reliable. Only had one issue and truma was right there to help. 100% excellent Customer service.
I had a girard instant heater before that and it was horrible.

Welcome to the forum.

X2 on what Hivoltage98 said.
If you search this forum, you'll find the Girard units had problems, but there have been few complaints about the Truma units.

I am not sure the truma combi was ever used in the jayco line. The combi is a dual unit that provide hot water and heat like a furnace. The truma comfort was the on demand water heater jayco used in 2018 after many failures with the gerard units. The only issue with the comfort model was it is not cold weather proof. With cost cutting the past year jayco has gone back to the tried and true Atwood heater.
I really like the truma unit and have had no problems with it.

The truma combo was designed for European rv’s and is a trusted unit overseas.
I’ve used my truma in winter camping and have the winter kit in it. It works Fantastic.

Truma

We also replaced the “ Junk “ Girard with the Truma Comfort and absolutely love it - no complaints of any kind Les

Our Precept came with the Truma basic model. We had it upgraded to the comfort model so we would have freeze protection. We absolutely love it. On our past rv's we've had 6, 10 and 12 gallon Atwoods and Suburbans and there is no comparison. Nice long showers with zero temperature fluctuations. I have not heard any complaints from people with the Truma. We full time so we've been using ours for almost 2 years now. Last winter we were in Florida for 2 months. I filled the propane tank about a week before we got there and filled it when we left. It took just over 11 gallons to fill the tank. 11 gallons for cooking and taking long, hot showers for 2 months is well worth it.
