Where is the transfer switch located.
Bought a new 2019 Redhawk 22C. We are new to using a generator the transfer switch seems to take an unusual long time to switch to the generator sometimes 2 minutes or not at all. The book says 25 to 45 seconds. I have looked all over the Redhawk and can't seem to find the transfer switch. the position is not mentioned in the manual and I'm unable to currently get by a dealership. Thought one of you good people could help with the location. Thanks!

Could also be a geny problem if the voltage output of the geny is off(not running at full speed)the transfer switch won't activate.
Can't help as to the location, but I have seen them under the bed or in a cabinet under a drawer even under a panel in a wardrobe. It should be pretty close to the circuit breaker panel.

Greyhawk mine is under the bed but since your bed is on a slide I would say it is located near your power cable

Thanks for the pic of the transfer switch, I didn't expect it to look like that.

If your getting power to your outlets your transfer switch is good. It would not directly affect the battery charger in the converter separately.

If you're getting power to all the other 110 outlets and all your 12v lights work while running the geny your problem is not the transfer switch. Either a bad charging circuit in your converter or a bad battery.

Thanks that helps. I suspect the power converter as I have seen a lot of strange unreproducable behavior but I will start with the simpler of the two...the battery. I will look into doing a load test.

Related question. Before I cut a big-ol-wire. Am I right in thinking the only place to install a hard-wired surge suppressor/EMS unit which will protect both shore and genny power would be between the transfer box and fuse box? Thanks. Just a little nervous and I appreciate the awesome feedback on this forum!
And that thing to the left of the fuse box is the inverter for the house battery conversion to 110? Right?

Nevermind: I read elsewhere is best to install before xfer box, so I will put elsewhere..
I probly will see if I can replace this junction box with my new Hardwired EMS-LCHW30 EMS from PI. It looks a little tight. Will post after pic.

And it fit nicely in there once I removed the old junction box. Now just gotta seal the holes and screw it in!

Jimmyd, not to disparage you or you coach, but Jayco, for the mess they create placing components and wiring.
They really can't do better than that?

Wireman I totally agree. I have since those pictures were taken moved some of the wiring for safety reasons.
My companies were under UL Code and we wouldn’t even consider this mess.
Not sure how the RV industry gets away with it but it is poor workmanship to say the least.

It's a sad state in the RV industry as a whole. Quality is suppose to be their #1 priority when you read their brochures. RIGHT !!
Reality is 180 degrees opposite.
It will never change.
Can't imagine what it's like where you can't see.

Under the bed most likely, if not and all else go underneath and follow where the generator output cable goes, my switch takes about a minute to kick in, this is to allow the generator to warm up a bit and stabilize RPM before adding any loads, never have heavy loads turned on before that or it will cause arching in the switch and it will fail much sooner.

You would be shocked, or maybe not. I spent several days just cleaning up the spaghetti mess under the bed, I could do better wire management with my eyes closed.
