Winter storage

Hi I’m new here. I have a 2021 Melbourne 24L, I had to replace the DEF tank and sensor this spring. Because of freezing while in storage. Dealership suggested heated storage to solve the problem? It was covered by warranty, anyone have the same problem and does anyone have a cure? Other then trying to find heated storage.

We have the same motorhome and store it outside. We had 2 bad cold snaps here last winter, below zero. I never had a problem.

When you think about it, these diesel vans are driven in all kinds of weather (as well as other brand diesel vehicles) and left outside over night and on weekends. I can't imagine anyone would buy one if there was a requirement to only leave them in a heated space.

I call nonsense on that. Plenty of diesel rigs operate in freezing temps, many in arctic conditions. Cold weather didn't cause your pump to fail, poor design or manufacturing did.

Never had an issue with frozen DEF. Mine, (and most) have a DEF heater in the tank. Start up the truck, and the heater and lines are warming.
Mine has frozen solid numerous times when it's -20 or -30 below F. This is my 3rd diesel with DEF.

Always starts and runs. With good batteries and a block heater, of course at -20 F.

Finding heated storage is ridiculous.
