At my last stop I started looking closer at the wiring on the kitchen slide and I found 1 green wire on the back bottom that was not connected. After much cussing and working with the wrong tools, I was able to get the wire connected again. Now the slide moves for 4 Seconds!! and then stops... It's progress and I guess I will have to keep searching the wires.

I tried the reversing connector and it acted the same. I didn't try swapping controllers because the bedroom slide works well and I didn't want to risk messing that up.

I have about 5 or 6 more CG's before I get back home in Oct so I'm going to just deal with it and take it back to the shop when I get back. I have a small list of warranty items that need attention so I'm not going to stress about it unless it carps out on me.

A 5th wheel pulled into our CG and I had an opportunity to discuss his kitchen slide which he has had no problems with. It is a rack and pinion slide but powered by two hydraulic rams. Works very smoothly. Wish Jayco would go to hydraulic powered slides on their big kitchen slides just like they are going to the hydraulic level system.

My SOB was three hydraulic slides.
A cupboard door wasn’t closed properly and there’s no stopping the hydraulics. The door jammed and snapped to pieces.
And they moved twice the speed of the Schwintek
I would love everything hydraulic again.

Look under the rig for a square patch (2' x 2') in the underbelly, in the middle of the slide. Both sides are geared to a motor in the center that is under that patch. Usually there is a bolt that shears off and it is very easy to see once the patch is removed. I hope it's the same arrangement on your slide. In-floor by Lippert

There are threads that show pics on JOF that I have posted.

I had a problem on a Jayco Designer years ago with the electric motor driven rack and pinion and shear bolts. I'd replace the broken bolt and it would shear again after a couple of slide cycles. Tried to figure out what was causing extra load. On either side of the rack gear teeth is a flat surface that rides on two steel wheels during the in/out movement of the slide. The flat surface had a buildup of gritty dirt. Used a steel putty knife to clean the surface. A lot of crud came off. That certainly helped. Be careful about adding spray lubricant to the surface as it can attract grit.

Slide out peoblems

We bought a new 5th wheel a few months back and had the same problem before we left the dealer. The next morning the put the higher torque motors and haven't and problems yet. You might ask your dealer to install them.

4 red 1 green means either faulty motor or wiring

I don't have a residential frig. I have a Norcold 3118IM - specs say it weighs 330 lbs. Slide has been functioning fine so far after a year of use.

Emailed Whirlpool customer service and they responded that the weight of the residential fridge in my KPTS is 257 lbs.

Seems about the same weight as the 18 cu ft propane/electric RV fridge.
