Are they worth the money?

Ok, so we’ve purchased a 2011 25.5rks, moving up,from a 23b, I’ve scrolled through all the posts on different hitches and I’m pretty sure I know the few that are considered elite. My question is on FB there are tons of hitches 1/3 of the price of those elite hitches, are those expensive hitches worth it? We are not full timers, but when we do travel it will be for an extended pull most times. Thoughts ?

Do your research thoroughly. Talk with Rustic Eagle on this forum. You want to buy the correct hitch the first time............so you only have to buy it once.

I'm not sure what you consider "elite"? You usually get what you pay for in 5th wheel hitches. IMHO the B&W is the best in it's price range. After that you can go up to the air ride hitch. I consider the TrailerSaver the "Elite" and worth every penny if you want the absolute best ride possible. But most people don't want to pay that price.

Thanks! I guess I was considering elite as those that slide and turn as you drive .

Do a lot of comparison shopping as prices are all over the map!

Streetsideauto.com has some great prices and is where I bought my Reese Steadi-flex and has free shipping!

I tend to agree.

There are structural, mechanical, and numerous built-in features that will influence 5th wheel hitch pricing....., ie; style of pivot head, jaw type, universal rails, slider, frame strength, adjustability, ease of removal, etc..

Can't forget the style of the FW 'pin box'

In many cases one's personal towing expectation comes into play......, and with some of the heavier pin-weight FW's rolling down the road today a good 5th wheel hitch can make a notable difference in TV handling and ride comfort.
