Backup camera questions on 377

Video I just watched on YouTube complains that the factory installed backup camera doesn't work so well when in motion with a 377. Anybody have a contrary opinion?

If I go aftermarket wireless, does the factory prep package play nice? Preferring not to have to manually turn on and off the camera, like I do with my IBall system.

I have the factory installed Voyager camera. It sucks badly. I wouldn't recommend it. Looses signal at road speed. Has a delay.
Jayco is now using Furrion (Lippert) cameras. Don't know if they are good or not.

Do you know when they switched? The 377 in the video I saw was a 2017.5 model.

The camera in question is at 3:12 in this video:

My 2018 has a little delay at road speed. Have not noticed a huge delay when not at speed. The signal goes down some at speed but never lost totally. Mine is a furrion. Not a great camera though.

2018 units should have Furrion. Prior units Voyager.

I solved my camera issues by running the antenna up to the front AC and mounting it there. Full signal when going down the highway.

Some interesting videos I found on YouTube.

First, does anyone know what model Furrion is being installed by the factory? I assume the reverse model, not the observation model?

https://youtu.be/CmgVCbBsPLY

And what is used to trigger the power to the camera if it can be used as a rear view when moving?

The observation model is more powerful, but the antenna position is critical:

The trigger is the running lights.

Thanks. Do you know if you have the Vision 1 or Vision 2?

If these photos are accurate, monitor of Vision 2 has articulating antenna on it and Vision 1 does not:

Have one on my 18' 317. Video quality isn't the best, signal strength isn't great either, you should be able to purchase a transceiver that allows the signal to be boosted which make reception a non issue even at above highway speeds.

Mine is triggered when the head lights come on which I don't like as I like to leave my headlight switch on AUTO. I'd make sure that the new camera supplier has a transceiver available for purchase.

So the problem i have with it is it is supposed to be able to be plugged in in the bedroom and used as an observation camera. There is no switch that i can turn on and be able to turn the camera on. The only way is to plug in the running lights and have them on. Owners manual says there is a switch, but cant find one.

My March of 2017 Eagle 293RKDS has a camera power rocker switch in the docking station.

1 is a back up camera

2 is an observation camera

At least according to the links.

So the owners manual says that there is a switch in the docking station. No switch. The other place says battery compartment. No switch. Looked all over. No switch that i can find. Even tried to follow wires, no switch. My Guess is. No switch. Oh well, no big deal, i don’t know if i would use it anyway. I am just one of those guys that reads the owners manual. And when it says it will do something i go and look for it.

My switch is in the top right side of the docking station along the edge. It's not in plain sight.

Where does this docking station sit in the coach, and is it part of the camera prep or do you need to buy the camera, too?

What did you use to secure the wire to the roof? Does the antenna work well mounted horizontally?

I love my Furrion backup camera! I installed after the fact (see the "377 mods" page). It has worked flawlessly for me. I wired it so that I have to turn on my park lights (or full head lights) to see the camera...but it works great..even at 70 MPH.
