Black water valve

We have a 2016 Pinnacle with 2 bathrooms. My husband replaced the black water valve on our powder room toilet but now we have a problem with the main black water tank in the bathroom where the shower is located. We dumped the tank and it emptied completely but then when we flushed the toilet to clean it, water filled to the top. Obviously a valve is broken somewhere. Anyone have a diagram of this toilet/black water tank? It was a nightmare to change. Any help?

Your 16 pinnacle is prolly like my 17 Northpoint. Your pass thru storage (basement), take out the back wall and that will show you the great workmanship out in these. You'll be able to access the black and grey tanks and valves. I would have to say the cable rod prolly came off the valve. The cable is attached to the valve with a set screw. This would be a good time to disconnect the cables and lube them up with some WD-40, Break Away, etc... depending, you might want to re route the cables so they don't have any tight bends in them too.

Thanks - will do that. Normally we flush the tanks with the hose taken into the camper and flush the tanks that way, but this time we flushed using the inlets on the outside of the camper - didn't have a problem until we used the back flush connections on the outside of the camper. Wondering if this could be the problem.

Just an obscure possibility here, is it possible that after you dumped the tank the tank flush water was left on and you filled it back up? Just seems like it’s full….

Poop Pyramid?
Generally forms directly under the down pipe from the toilet and can be caused by not enough water when flushing. It piles up and never flushes with the rest of the tank, taking up space in the tank and making for a difficult tank flush.

If you have a toilet that the pipe goes straight down you can shine a flashlight down and see if you see the bottom of the black tank or a pyramid. If the latter you will want to get a flushing rod that attaches to a hose and work from the toilet to clear the tank. I made one with a 6 foot piece of 1/2 flex line and an on/off hose valve.

Thanks for your response. Our pipe down from the toilet goes about 2 feet and then goes off on a 30 degree angle. We have "snakes" that we have put down as far as we could but obviously something is blocking it. Tomorrow we will go into the basement, pull down the coverings and see if we can see if there is a problem that we can spot there. Luckily the tank is emptied. We've been camping for over 20 years and never have had as many problems as we have had with this camper. Adventures in camping.....

Just be careful because the tank may in-fact not be empty and the surprise that comes will not be pleasant. A snake might clear the pile but then again might not since it is not a line blockage.
