Cold Weather baggage door bowing.

Has anyone had their baggage doors warp in cold weather? I didn't notice any problems last winter, but it's 26 degrees this morning and when walking the dog I noticed the large slam lock baggage door is bowed out in the center at least 1" and will not touch the magnets that hold it open. None of the other doors are doing this. I'm hoping it will return to normal when the temps rise, then I can convince the DW the fix would be to head south for the rest of winter....

After the temps warmed up to a balmy 42 degrees today the door straightened out somewhat, but not totally, just enough to stick open on one magnet.
Having lived in Michigan all my life I like winter cold less and less.
I'm thinking a warm climate is all that door needs to straighten it out so I'm liking the idea of "If the door has a bow it's time to go"

You might want to think about adding a couple of 1x2's vertically to the back of the door. This may help with the cold weather warping of the door. Of course why do all that work when you can head to Florida.

Actually the 5er is under warranty, I was trying to find out if anyone else had this issue. I did find someone else online having the same issue, but it was on a Grand Design forum, and the poster was a RV dealer.
"Did you ever look at the larger compartment doors when it is cold out? They appear bowed because the framing shrinks more in the cold than the door material.".

I'm not sure if a replacement door would stay straight in cold temps and even so, if Jayco would consider this to be a defect. Nope, not going to try to reinforce it. Probably just make the door heavier and bruise my head more severely when the cheap magnets don't hold!

That's very interesting, and makes sense. I wonder why we haven't gotten posts on this in the past? Larger doors for outside kitchens and bunk access have been around for some time now. It makes me wonder what's changed in the construction lately, if anything.

My outside kitchen door 'bows outward' when cold temps drop....., warm weather brings it back.
