Fridge not working on electric

I have a norcold fridge in our 5th wheel. It’s just over 2 years old. It seems to be working fine on propane but not getting very cold on electric. Any ideas?

Have you tried bringing the temp down using propane and then switching to electric?

Did you ohm the heating element(s) to see if they are in spec? Are the element(s) getting 120v? 120v, not a low voltage.

My Norcold was cooling poorly. The cause was the two fans in the back had died. Yours probably has them too. You should be able to hear them at the outside vent. Our fridge is in a slide so it has two side vents, one low and another near the top of the fridge. Unfortunately the fans are about mid way between the vents. I could not see them but was able to take a pic from the upper vent and verify they weren’t turning, may be able to get a pick from the low vent but I didn’t try that. They help move air over the condensing fins near the top of the fridge, in hot weather convection just isn’t enough. Replacing them required removing the fridge. Doable but I found it to be a two person job.
If it gets cool but not cold on electric I’d start with the fans. Also verify the tubes at the back are hot to the touch on electric. If they are check the fans.

If it works ok good LP, everything is good on the fridge including the fans. LP generates more heat than electric. You have no voltage, low voltage or a bad heating element(s). If you have a good 120v to the elements, ohm them and see if they are in spec. If it has two elements and it cools but not cold enough, one element could be bad.

I found these DIY videos and they look pretty good to me. There’s 4 that I think relate to your problem, #5,8,11 and 12.
