GY Endurance issues

We have Goodyear endurance ST255 /85R16 on our Pinnacle. This year has been the year for tires as we have had several issues with these and then cannot find them. We just bought a spare but it is an ST235, and someone suggested we get GY 14 ply or Heartland. any thoughts?

The G 614 only comes in a 235 if I remember correctly and has a slightly lower load rating. It's rated at 3750 where the Endurance 255 is 4080.

Yes, they are hard to find, but eTrailer does have them in stock, but they are sold already mounted to a wheel - don't see the option of just ordering the tire from them...

Any tire place that carries Goodyear would be able to get them.

The Sailun S637 is 14 ply equal to the GY 614, but at about 60% of the cost

The 255 Endurance has the same load rating as the Sailun at 4080 lbs.

I just bought 4-225/75R15 GY endurance tires at local Goodyear tire store. the gentleman at the store said he checked with the local warehouse to replace his stock and was told they where out of that size. He said he was told that Goodyear has temporally halted production on endurance tires to concentrate on winter tire. he said tire companies are currently dealing with a rubber shortage, just what I was told

If you Google Goodyear rv tires you will hear some horror stories. I would not use them even if you paid me to have them. They have kept the truth hidden for many years . But who am I to keep anyone from making their own decisions.

The MARATHONS yes, they were made in China. The ENDURANCE are made in the USA and have only been out about 5 years.

Have the Endurance on my 2018 Pinnacle. Grumpy is correct about the weight rating. The Endurance is known as the BEAST for a reason.

The only issue I have had is finding them. Was going to have mine replaced recently and the ones the Belle Tire store received from the warehouse had a manufacture date of 2017. Needless to say I declined. Will wait until spring to replace them.

If you have a discount tire nearby they can get them for you directly from Goodyear. They got a set of 4 for me in about a week. Born 2021.

Definitely check with Discount Tire as AKRUEBBE suggested. It looks like you are in Howell, MI and I see there is a Discount Tire there just a few blocks down from Belle Tire. I picked up a set of 4 in early July from our local Discount Tire - got them in less than a week. Tire size was ST235/80R16. All 4 had Februrary 2021 date codes on them.

I should add that mine are ST255/85R16, a little harder to find but again if anyone can get them for you it will be Discount Tire.

A question for the Endurance owners, at what age have you replaced them (or at what age do you plan to replace)?

I’ve had my G614’s a touch over 6 years and plan to replace them in the next year or so. We purchased the 5th new and it came with the infamous TowMax which barely lasted a year. 2 of them blew in a 70 mile stretch and a third was ready to join his brothers. They were just shy of the 3 year mark since birth so I guess they were due. The 614’s have logged just shy of 30k miles and have been flawless, but were pricy.
Taking a look at Discount Tire
G614 235/85 = $1516/4
Endurance 235/80 $725/4
Endurance 255/85 = $920/4 (back ordered)
