Help - one side of our slideout is stuck!

Has this happened to anyone before? We have a 2017 317RLOK 38’ 5th wheel and the left side of the kitchen slideout will not budge! The right side of the slideout extends a little then stops, and luckily we can retract it. There is nothing in the tracts or blocking the slide. If you have this model do you know where the slide controllers are? (Jayco won’t even talk to me as our camper is now out of warranty).

Are you on shore power? If not could be a low battery issue.

Could also be a bad motor, loose wire, bad controller. Usually the slide controllers for the FW's are in the front storage compartment, either on the ceiling or behind the wall on the back side.

As to JAYCO not talking to you. The people you get on the phone are not service techs and usually don't know the answer either. You are better off calling LIPPERT since they made the slide system.

Once you find the controllers
One for bedroom one for the kitchen slide.. Usually up between the floor joists in basement. Pull the mnting screws and let it hang by the wires. The override is press the button 6 times and hold on the 7th until lights change on controller.
The try the switch and toggle it off and on until you get slide full travel. Hold for 5 seconds on full travel going in or out to keep the motors sync'd You may have to do the above a couple times to get them resync'd.
If one Motor is dead get a rv tech as it can be a real headache to access and replace.

I think it needs to be synced.

I’ll check there, thank you.

Lippert has been wonderful, I’ll give them a call.

If you override the controller to get it to move in or out. Only sync with the controller in normal operation.

Thank you everyone. The light was blinking 8 times which means “Hall signal not present; encoder not providing a signal; usually a wiring problem.” We reset it twice and the same thing happens, one side of the kitchen slideout doesn’t move. I’ll try Lippert in the morning. <fingers crossed it’s an easy fix as we have 3 trips coming up!>
