Help - wiring - rookie mistake

I made a rookie mistake tonight getting set up at the site tonight. Was hurrying and failed to unhook the wire from the truck before pulling away.

I pulled it clear off.

I can fix it, but the colors of wires on the cord don't match the wires coming out of the trailer. Manual only lists the wire colors in the cord. Anyone know what to mate up color wise?

On the cord I have: white, blue, green, black, red, Brown and yellow.

On the trailer, I have (coming from the driver's side): red, green, orange, brown, black and brakes (white and black)

Coming from the passenger side I have: green, orange, black, white, Brown and red.

Anyone know how to mate these up?

I feel like the biggest idiot......

Here is what I've figured out so far:

Driver's side red, green & brown goes to the rear hitch wiring

Pass side red, green & brown are the camper running, tail and stop lights.

Orange - on both driver and passenger - not sure - 12 v applied did nothing, no continuity to ground.

Black on driver side - did nothing. Read like 2 milivolts on it.

what do you mean by coming from driver side vs. passenger side?? Where exactly did it break?

Typically this is the wiring:

blue- brakes+
red- 12v charge+
yellow- left turn/stop+
green- right turn/stop+
brown- tails+
black-reverse+
white- ground-

I ripped the cord from the trailer. When I say driver's side vs passenger side, I'm talking about where the trailer wiring comes from. If you stick your head up behind the pin box, there are wires that come through the passenger side of the pin box and from the driver side of the pin box.
This is where the trailer wiring connects to the cord wires.

The part I'm stuck on is the two orange wires, one on each side. I cannot figure out what they are for. They have no continuity to ground and applying 12V to them does nothing. They aren't the brakes, I have those identified already, as well as all the lighting and the charge wire.

What else would be wired into the truck plug?

Not positive, but they might power the backup camera circuit. Hard to check unless you have a camera though.

The orange leads may be for backup lights that are not present on the back of the trailer?

As I remember (and I can't be sure I'm 100% correct), this is the orange wiring on my fifth wheel:

An orange wire coming from the batteries connects to the battery + charge wire and then connects to the breakaway switch. An orange wire coming from the breakaway switch connects to the power going to the electric brakes.

I think you're right. My breakaway has an orange and black coming out of it. I think the orange is the 12V, black gets tied into brake positive.

Just to close the loop on this in case anyone else ever does this and needs some information:

The wiring for running, stop and turns uses the red, green and brown and the trailer wiring matches the cord colors. There are two sets of them on the trailer: one for the lights and one for the 4 way plug at the rear trailer hitch. Do for each color you connect 3 wires - 2 from trailer, one from the cord.

The yellow wire (backup light feed from vehicle) on the cord is not used.

Thick gage black from trailer passenger side is 12=v charging circuit and connects to black on the cord.

White is ground and connects to several other whites, along with one of the brake line wires (brake line has white and black duplex in a red covering) I think 4 ground were combined including the white from the brakes.

Brakes use blue wire from cord. It can connect to either brake wire as polarity doesn't matter with brakes. I connected black to blue.

The black line coming from the driver side of the pin box is the emergency breakaway line and gets connected with the brake and blue wire.

The orange wires are a splice in between the battery and breakaway switch and don't hook to the cord.

I reattached everything per above, checked light operation and brake operation and all worked as it should.

Hopefully, no-one else needs this, but if you do, this should get you squared away!
