Light Issue on Eagle HT 26.5

I have an 2015 Eagle HT 26.5 fifth wheel. Right under the step there is an amber light kind of like a side marker. This light is controlled by a switch in the panel box that also controls the LED strip light under the awning. In the process of changing out the amber light it and the strip light quit working. I have checked every fuse and outlet and everything is working. Any idea where these two lights get their power from and what I might have blown.

If the light you replaced is an LED, make sure you have the polarity correct.

I haven’t replaced the light yet. I was using a test light to make sure I knew which wire was hot and which one was ground. All of a sudden the old light quit working as well as the strip light under the awning. Must have shorted something but can’t find any reset.

If that's the case you almost certainly blew a fuse somewhere. One would think it would be in your converter but it is possible that the awning strip has an inline fuse somewhere as well. Maybe someone who has your exact model trailer can pull fuses on their converter to get you closer to a solution. Also possible to call Jayco and ask there tech dept.

I went out and checked my trailer. I have the same Amber light that comes on with my main awning light. All of my exterior lights are wired to a auto reset breaker rather than a fuse. I pulled the breaker and it is the circuit that controls that light. You could test that breaker for continuity if you have a multimeter. Click image for larger version

I pulled every 12 volt fuse in my box this morning. I pulled the 20 amp auto reset fuse and all were ok. I pulled the cover off my pantry where the wires come in from the light and did not find an in-line fuse. Still no strip light or amber marking light. Everything else using 12 volts seem to be working.
Am wondering if the rocker switch could either have some kind of built-in fuse or could have went bad.
I am at the end of my pay grade.

In the bedroom up front there is a panel inside the right lower storage cubby. Remove that to reveal the wires that provide power to the awning lights, amber light, switch etc. If memory serves, there is an inline fuse that you may have blown. Hope this helps!

The awning light and the step light are on the same circuit. Perhaps the wire came off the amber light socket while you were in there. Double check the wires are connected inside the fixture that you opened.
