Lubrication Disc
I don’t have my North Point 377 yet but B&W recommends a lubrication disc between the hitch and the fifth wheel.
I checked the Morryde website for the size of the bottom of the hitch but can’t find any dimensions
Is anyone running the disc and if so what size?
Thanks

Yep, about 10" available at most camping/RV supply stores. They are usually made out of Nylon or another similar material.

I have a 12" on our Pinnacle and also used a 12" on our previous Eagle.

I have used them for the eight years full timing. After about 4 years they loosen up and won't stay on the hitch pin, so I normally keep a spare. A 10" cost around $11.

When it loosens, lay it on concrete and hit it around the inside with a hammer and it will go back on tight.

I've all way's ran my disc dry. Thought that was he reason for using them but I seen a video the other day where they were putting grease on the top side between the disc and the pin box. How does everyone here do it.

I use mine dry. Like you, I thought that’s how they intended.

B and W recommends a graphite material disc that is 10”. The disc is on their website.

It’s meant to be used dry. I have seen some ex truck drivers load it up with grease but that is just old habits.
I don’t want to get grease and grime everywhere if not needed.
I have heard that the B&W uses a thinner disk.

The disc or the hitch? B&W recommends grease or a disc. They say to match the size of the disc to the pin box.

The one I know about is the disk that is on the pin box. It seems like it was 1/8 instead of 1/4 inch. Let me do some reading on another forum and see if I can find the conservation.

I would think the thinner the better to make sure the pin isn’t too high in the jaws of the hitch. But haven’t used one yet so don’t know. I’m planning to run the graphite disc and no grease.

Here is the info I was talking about from a friend of mine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
those of us who use Hensley Trailer Saver Pin Boxes and/or folks with other brands of hitches that use Holland-Brinkley heads have to use thin lube plates .... standard lube plates are 1/4" thick, we need them to be 1/8" .... needless to say, they can be hard to find ... historically I've bought them from Hensley who charges $19.75 + (for us) $15.16 shipping = $34.91 each ... ... the last few I've bought haven't held up to well .... just found a Reese 83004 Fifth Wheel Hitch Lube Plate .... still expensive for $26.29 on Amazon but with Prime's free shipping .... the Reese is larger in diameter and feels stiffer than the Hensley .... hopefully it will last longer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently it is not about the B& W hitch.

We got our first fifth wheel last year. I bought a disc the day I picked it up at the dealer. From all of my reading and research, I run the disc dry, but you still need to grease the pin and the jaws, both the inside of the jaws and the top and bottom of the jaws. I haven't had a problem with that being messy because it is down inside the hitch. B&W also says to grease the rubber bushings that the head sets on.

Lubrication Disc
I’ve got the new orbital Moryde pin box on my 2018 Eagle HT 28.5. Because the king pin does not rotate at the hitch, the no-lube disk will not fit. I wonder if I should still put a thin coat of grease on the hitch plate anyway.
