New Pinnacle woes

Bought our 2020 pinnacle in October do to needing to homeschool our granddaughter (covid) just went out on our first trip. Day 1 116 degrees one AC not getting cold. Mobile RV tech finds refrigerant leak, unfixable need to replace entire unit. Day 3 front bathroom toilet backs up, nothing comes out when dumping, clogged on day three? Valve seems to be working so put some happy camper down the toilet and let sit. Six hours later fluid level has dropped about 1 inch. Added more happy camper, next morning fluid level down about 8 inches and I can see toilet paper clog ( we use RV paper so this is surprising). Used a pair of tongs to reach down and pull out the clog, letting all the fluid drain into the tank. Looking down into the tank I can see a 2x3 sitting upright sticking up into the drain pipe which it what the TP got stuck on. Tongs once again and was able to fish out the 2x3x8 inch piece of wood. Either groot used my toilet or somebody at the plant has a poor sense of humor. Anybody else have something like this happen?

That is ridiculous, but unfortunately I'm not shocked by it. Just wait till you look in behind panels and cabinets.... wiring rats nests, sawdust galore, just poor sloppy work done in a rush. Who knows how that wood got into your tank, but at least it's out now.

It's hard to find care and attention to detail these days, not just RVs. Either people are getting dumber or just caring less. I had a guy that worked at an auto shop tell me that 1.10 is more than 1.6, because ten is more than six. He was dead serious.

black tank tip: use lots of water, add water after draining so there's always water in the tank (unless your rig is in storage), flush with lots of water. Water is your friend.

All the water in the world won't help when there is a foreign 2 x 3 piece of wood in your tank!!

My current Eagle is my 3rd rig. The day I brought it home I opened the toilet with the foot pedal and looked down into the black tank with a flashlight and low and behold there was 2 pieces of wall trim about 12'' long. I fished them out and although this has been a very reliable rig, this was obviously done on purpose. All it takes is one guy having a bad day and thinking I'm going to make things difficult for this person because he ordered this camper and made me work.

Wow! Glad you were able to get that out. Can't imagine if it was inaccessible. Hope there aren't too many more surprises.
