On Demand Water Heater Issue

I have a Girard GSWH-2 water heater. Its 2 years old and we have had no issues with it until this weekend. After a few hours are hard rain, when I tried to use the hot water i received an error code "E7" on the control panel.

E7: Linear valve failure:
The Controller Module detects an open circuit in the Linear Valve control circuit before ignition or during normal operation indicating a faulty Valve.

After about 18 hours of nicer weather, I had hot water and no error codes. I did not do anything to correct the issue, other then stare at the heater a few times.

I was wondering does anyone have any idea what may be happening?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

We have the Gen III and have the E-7 code several times. Last time was because our propane regulator was going bad and wasn't allowing enough gas.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will see if I can replace that part over the next two weeks. Hopefully that take care of the issue.

Scuba Roy,
Did you replace the linear valve or the propane regulator to correct?
