Question Re-Leveling

While all set up on soft ground, I've noticed after a week or so that there is a slight movement because of settling. How do you re-level. Can you just hit "Auto Level" again while the slides are out or is there a recommended procedure?

I would put the slides in and then hit the re-level button.

I installed some bubble levels at the front of my rig that I can see when I need to fine tune my level. I use the individual buttons on the leveler control panel to bring the bubbles back to center.

This works better for me than the auto level function. I have tried re-calibrating the leveler but it just seems to want to get you close. It is a simple matter to just hit the individual buttons to tweak the level.

I hit the button again. It’s usually very little movement so I don’t bring the slides in. Maybe I should. I don’t know.

I’ve recalibrated mine, but it’s hard to get dead on. I made it better though. From the factory, it leaned left when “level”. I just put my iPhone on the floor with level app pulled up.

I would just manually adjust it myself, not going to move enough to cause any problems, I do it all the time in our Seneca.

Its funny though, the level then deploy slides or deploy slides and then level....everybody has their preference. I find it funny that in the manual for our Seneca it says to level then deploy the slides...which is my method, but then a few pages later in the same manual it says you must deploy slides and then level

If you manually "tweak it" to re-level, what does that do to the hitch height function when it is time to "break camp"?

Also did it manually. Heard of others hitting auto again. I manually adjust with slides out. Do it all the time as we camp in fields, yards and state parks. So we almost always sink. Sometimes more than once during the stay. Sometimes we have it use a shovel to get our Lego blocks out of the ground. I will try hitting auto the next time.

How about pull the slides in and raise the rear jacks an inch or two then hit Auto Level?

Tried the Auto Level with the slides out and as previously said very little movement. Achieved level in about 12 seconds.

At our current site we ran an "out of stroke" error, even with the 8" Andersen Jack blocs and some 2x8's. We left the slides out while fussing with the rig and blocks then ran the auto-level again with no troubles. The frame twist before manually leveling was enough to cause the left basement door to bind on closing even though it read only 0.1 degree off.

We had to relevel. We are in a campground in the Colorado Rockies, 8300 feet, and there had been some recent dirt work at the back of our spot. We were getting a little nose high with the settling on the back jacks. I decided to pull in the slides, hit retract on the pad and then level. It would be simpler just to hit the relevel but I'm a bit on the cautious side dealing with these things.

What I found unusual when performing a re-level is that the system operated in the opposite sequence. First it checked ground contact with the middle (stabilizer) jacks then tweaked the rear jacks followed by tweaking the landing gear, then very minor tweaks of both front and rear. It must have a sensor that knows it's a re-level.

Ironically, we are in one of the nicest, best manicured and landscaped parks we've been in- Santa Fe Skies RVP. This particular site has an insidious slant to it that is not apparent until your go to level the rig. Like parking on an Escher print.

I had 16 pieces of 3/4" marine plywood cut into 12"X12" squares and use them under the levelers before I level mine. I use a 4 foot level inside and do it front to back and then side to side manually. Auto level brings you up too high.

I find Snap Jacks work really well no matter the surface I am on. You install them over the jack plates. They are a little bigger than the jack plates, so they cover more area. No more having to put plywood under the plates when in soft areas.

Hey AKRUEBBE, hope you doing okay since you guys move from WA, I you look into those snap pad for your Jack feet they are pretty wide and might be something to look into since you are full timing.

Doing fine Big1 ! Enjoying the travel. I've had Snap Pads on both my FW. They are great.........gives a lot more stability and less chance of "sinking".

This is so good to hear that you and your wife are doing well. I thought about getting the snap pad but just haven't gotten around to it.
