Roof cleaning

We got a seasonal site this year and didn’t realize how much of a disaster cottonwood trees are when they drop their sticky pods. Anyone have experience on what and how to clean the roof, awning and slide out awnings? Thanks for any help

I know that rubbing alcohol does a great job at removing tree sap from fir trees. I would give that a try.

Camco has a cleaner and treatment that says it works on sap. I have used it but no sap to clean and it only did an ok job on dirt.

could try to wash it first then using a rag soften the crud with a mild bleach solution one website recommended.

I have used Dawn Dishwashing detergent along with a string mop followed with a lot of rinsing and had decent results. Be careful with the type of shoes you are wearing if you do this, as some shoes are more slippery on the roof than others, and the soap make for a slippery surface. ~CA

Its my understanding the roof rubber membrane will dry up when harsh cleaners are used. I opt for Dawn and a soft brush. I leave the sap alone. Except for the awning.
