Slide out - Sticking

We just purchased at 2018 Jayco Eagle 28.5 RSTS and after getting it home, the living room slide won't extend. The bottom tries to, but the top of it appears to be stuck...any suggestions?

Does the motor stop? Or do you stop holding the extend button because it sticks?

In both TT's I've owned there is usually some "sticking" of the slide when you begin to extend or retraced it. I continue to hold the button and the motor will overcome the that sticking point and the slide will continue to fully extend or retraced evening itself out.

If the hang-up is for more than a few of seconds and/or the motor stops with the slide in that hung-up position or you hear the "click, click, click" normally associated with the slide being fully extended/retraced I would release the button since that would be a sign the slide is really hung-up on something and any further attempt to get it out or retraced it might cause some damage.

Try pushing on the top just as it starts to stick. Ours sometimes will stick when retracting, but, usually when cold outside. Not sure if it is misaligned or the cold rubber seals are causing the extra friction.

We have this exact model and year. Our dinette slide did not want to go out. Bottom went out top did not. Called dealer and they said keep pushing button. It went but it wasn’t good. Banging and cracking sounds. Sent video to dealer. Took it back in and Jayco rep came to dealer and sent techs out to remove the slide and make the hole bigger essentially. Seems there are quite a few of them out there with this exact same problem. Your dealer will have to have this fixed. Luckily we bought ours in October so we sent it back in November and it was fine in a week. Good luck and let us know if this was the issue. I have video of ours if I knew how to post it?
