So when you went to pick up your Pinnacle...

I just finished reading some confusing things about Truck height verses trailer height and now I am confused more than anything. I am driving 1800 miles one way to pick the Pinnacle up and don't want to show up and can't tow it home.
My truck is a 2016 Ford F-450. full stock with the 245-70-19.5 instead or the stock 225-70-19.5 tires.
I have the factory hitch setup with the factory Ford Reese 24K 5th wheel setup.
My concern is how do I know when I get there that my truck will tow this 5th wheel level or have enough clearance? What have you all done to prepare to pickup your 5th wheel.
If it does not sit right have they adjusted it for you when you pick it up?
Just looking for ideas from the people that have picked them up., Any problems? No problems? Solutions?
Thanks!
Steve

You can have the dealer or someone with the same trailer measure the distance between the bottom of the front section of the trailer and the bottom of the pin box plate. Then throw a 2x across the box and measure down to the hitch plate (hold it level). The diff is your box side clearance.

As far as towing level you should have no problem for bringing it home as it'll be empty and min weight.

The hitch and pin box have enough adjustment capabilities that you should be fine.

I have a Ram vs. your Ford, but for reference my hitch head is ~17” from the bed of the truck and I have 7” clearance above the bed rails.

I have a ‘14 F350 using a Curt Q25 hitch. My truck is only 2wd but with the factory pin box location and my hitch at the highest level, I tow level (about and inch nose down) with 6” clearance. I level everything out with airbags.
You should be fine and any adjustments needed can be (and should be) made by the dealer before you leave.

I would make sure to tell the dealer what truck and options I have (even measure the bed rail height) and tell them you want the trailer set up when you get there.

Plan on it not being setup. In that case also plan on several days waiting for the dealer to fix it before you sign the papers.

i have a 2018 F450 with a Ford factory installed Reese 27.5K hitch. I left at the rv dealers for a few hours and they hitched the Pinnacle and truck together, no problem. no problem at home either. you'll be fine.
