I just bought a 2019 Melbourne prestige 24L and can't figure how to shut the step light off. The under and inside steps are always lite when Master Switch is on the on position.

Quick answer, Yes. I have a new 2018 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS. The awning LED strip and the under stair light are switched separately. The stair light switch is exterior mounted, adjacent to the stair on the sidewall of the coach.

Do you have a remote to turn on lights and open the awnings? If so, try turning off the light with the remote, then check the switch

I have the same year and model 5er. I do not have an exterior mounted switch for the step light that I can find. The switch on the control panel (and remote) work both the awning light and the step light as a single circuit. Can you please give more information on this exterior mounted step light switch?

I have the same year and model and can not find the stair light switch, please be more specific or attach a picture.

took delivery of my 2018 eagle ht 28.5 rsts a couple weeks ago. switch for the stair light is, facing the stares to the right of stares on the outside of the wall about level with the top step. manufacture date was March 2018 so this switch may be just added to newest manufacture models. things do vary on same model. i have noticed a couple other things that are on already on mine that are listed as coming out on the Jayco 2019 models.

Step light and awning LED's are controlled by the same switch. Both on or both off.
HOWEVER, I installed a remote dimmer fir my awning LED's, so with the remote, Ican turn off the leds and just have the step light on.

I have a Melbourne Pestige with the same problem and the one in the my dealers showroom that they have also has that problem. They are contacting Jayco to see if they can find a cure for it because the manual says the light should shut off when the step goes in

I did this mod. I have two switches. One that turns on the main awning LED light and the blue stair light and another that turns on the smaller awning LED. I switched the larger awning LED wire to the smaller one now one switch just turns on the blue light and the other turns on both LED awning lights.

When I took our 2018 28.5 to the dealer for winterization, they installed a switch in one of the blanks in the panel, swapped a wire, and I now have a switch to turn on the awning lights and a switch to turn on the blue step light. Took them all of 5 minutes.

Apparently they changed this at some point my 2018 28.5 rsts has a switch outside by the steps that controls the step lights only.
