I had a similar problem with the trim around the bathroom door. I glued the veneer (I think it’s vinyl) back with a wood glue thinned with a little water and held it in place with a soft clamp for a couple of hours.
The repair looks pretty good. The underlying “wood” swells when it encounters water and the veneer came up a little short but the gap isn’t really noticeable.
Check into the cause, I’d expect water from the bath, wet mopp, shower spray, water escaping around the shower . . .and the like.
