Our 2018 KPTS works fine on 30 amp but we can only run one A/C at a time.

With 50a service, you have 2-120v legs and each is 50amps so the 30a service limits you to about 1/3 less current capacity.
Very good explanation.

We can and have run 15k a/c, electric hot water, made coffee, run tv and lights, radio bathroom fan ceiling fan microwave all at once as needed Our lights are led ones from jayco original. With the ac running it draws 13-14 amps alone. Electric Hot water draws 10 amps. I have a progressive dynamics unit it shows the amps on each leg.

I just added the same progressive tech 50wc
Itís a handy tool

we installed two Microair Easystarts (softstarters) in our AC units. These allow both units to run on 30 amps by reducing the amps required for compressor startup. A must for Florida Summer! Plus my wife likes that is opens up more site selections at campgrounds we look at! Not cheap, but makes for a Happy Wife, so that is all I care about!

And these work pretty well! just run a cord to the next door 30A pedestal.

With this setup... our Seneca has run both AC units, Fridge, Converter(charging the batteries) microwave all at once. Never blew a breaker.

For those who might frequent motorsports or equestrian events in your RV.

The power in the parking lots, corrals, infield-pedestals are more often 30A twist lock or 30A dryer receptacles. We also carry one of these and use it 2-3 times a year at the Fairgrounds.

Ironically, these are the only outlets they put around the stable areas, they don't put 15/20A outlets in these boxes. We end up letting our surrounding neighbors plug thier 20A extension cord into our outdoor receptacle and they can run their stuff on ours as long as they don't trip our 20A breaker dedicated for that circuit.

Be careful...

We had a very similar issue a few years back. The main a/c would not operate at full capacity.

Later in the day we smelled something burning. After checking out the RV we essentially went to the power stand. Our plug was melting. The campground breaker never tripped, so it kept supplying power.

Iíd constantly check that power supply to make sure itís not overheating.

Also many cg pedestals do not have 2-30a services. Many Georgia SP's do.

You will only be able to use one AC unit. (you probably have two). And. If you have an electric fireplace, you will not be able to run that either on just a 30 amp hook up.

Not to disagree, but I've melted two.....

One of the cheaper ones, then this one. I will never buy anything other than the corded ones again. When I used these, I was only using minimum power - 1 a/c unit, hot water heater on gas, etc.....

So, only corded units for me....but if they work for you, cool. I keep one is my tool kit as an emergency back up only, and a dog-bone type. But the other units with their own circuit breakers are my go to's now....

Guess if you have an unoccupied site next to you, you could do that.. not sure any campground would allow you to run an extension to an adjoining site tho.. none I worked in would. Even with that set up it would only give you 7200 watts of power not the 12,000 you would have with a regular 50 amp outlet.

Just a side bar note.

From time to time I use my sons outside 20amp service with my 2017 NP381.
with proper connections of course.

No AC's and a power management challenge, but we handle it.
